Frequently Asked Questions

What makes your approach different from other designers?

I work collaboratively with you throughout the entire process—you're not just handing off a project and waiting for the big reveal. This is "DI-with," not DIY. We dig deep together to understand your brand foundation, then I handle all the technical heavy lifting while keeping you involved in decisions. You'll have confidence in the final product because you were part of creating it.

Who do you typically work with?

I work primarily with coaches, therapists, and online business owners who have clarity about their business and who they serve, but feel daunted by the visuals, content, and technical aspects of building their brand and website.

Why do you build in Canva and Squarespace?

I build your brand in Canva and your website in Squarespace so you have full control and agency going forward. No gatekeeping of your content, no mysterious hosting logins. These platforms are user-friendly, reliable, and allow you to make updates yourself as your business evolves. Plus, I'll show you how to edit everything.

What's included in the branding process?

Branding is the foundation of all design work. We excavate your brand foundation together and create visual elements—graphics, mood, and style—that express who you are and what you do. This clarity flows into your website design and writing too.

How long does a website project typically take?

It takes anymore from 1 to 3 months depending on which package you choose.

Do you offer support after the website is complete?

Absolutely! I'll teach you how to edit your site yourself, and I'm available to work with you as needed going forward. You'll have full control, but I'm here when you need me.

What's your writing community about?

My weekly cowriting group offers accountability and helps you get in the zone with your writing—whether that's website copy, newsletters, or journaling. As a creative coach, I help you bring clarity, confidence, and audaciousness to showing up in your writing.

Do I need to have my content written before we start?

Not necessarily! Writing support is part of what I offer. We can work through your messaging and content together as part of the collaborative process.

What if I'm not tech-savvy?

That's exactly why I'm here! I handle all the backend tech stuff and make it simple. You don't need to be tech-savvy—you just need to be ready to dig deep and collaborate on bringing your vision to life.

To make this section more SEO friendly, do the following:

  1. Clarify the primary topic and intent

  • Identify the single primary keyword or phrase this section should target (e.g., “eco-friendly packaging design,” “wedding brand identity,” “small business website design”).

  • Ensure every paragraph supports that intent; remove or move unrelated content.

  1. Use the primary keyword strategically (naturally)

  • Include the primary keyword in the first 50–100 words.

  • Use it in one subheading (H2 or H3) and once more in the closing sentence.

  • Avoid keyword stuffing; keep phrasing natural.

  1. Add relevant secondary keywords and variations

  • Use 2–4 semantically related phrases and synonyms across the section (long-tail variants, questions, and modifiers).

  • Examples: “brand identity for creatives,” “minimal brand design process,” “affordable website design for photographers.”

  1. Improve headings and structure

  • Break the section into clear subheadings that match user intent (benefits, process, features, FAQs).

  • Use descriptive, user-focused headings (e.g., “How our brand process helps you stand out” instead of “Our Process”).

  1. Make content scannable

  • Use short paragraphs (1–3 sentences).

  • Add bulleted lists or numbered steps for processes, deliverables, or benefits.

  • Bold or emphasize key phrases (if style permits) for readability.

  1. Add concrete value and specificity

  • Include measurable outcomes, timelines, or deliverables (e.g., “3 logo concepts, 2 rounds of revisions, final files in SVG, PNG, EPS”).

  • Use case examples or mini case studies (one-sentence results with metrics when possible).

  1. Answer user questions and intent

  • Include a short FAQ or a “Common questions” mini-section addressing likely queries (pricing, timeline, revisions, file types, SEO basics).

  • Use question-style headings that match search queries.

  1. Optimize meta elements (for the page containing this section)

  • Suggest a concise meta title (50–60 chars) and meta description (120–160 chars) that include the primary keyword and a clear value proposition.

  • Ensure the H1 on the page aligns with the targeted intent.

  1. Use internal and external linking appropriately

  • Link to relevant internal pages (services, pricing, portfolio, blog posts) with descriptive anchor text.

  • If needed, cite a reputable external resource (one sentence) but don’t overlink.

  1. Improve multimedia and accessibility

  • Add an optimized image or visual (mockup, before/after) with an SEO-friendly file name and descriptive alt text that includes the primary keyword.

  • Use captions where helpful; ensure any video has a short transcript.

  1. Add structured data where appropriate

  • For service pages, consider schema markup (Service, BreadcrumbList, FAQ) to help search engines understand content and enable rich results.

  1. Monitor and iterate

  • Track performance (CTR, time on page, conversions) after changes.

  • Run an A/B test on headings or meta descriptions if traffic is low.

  • Update the section periodically with fresh examples or new metrics.

Quick checklist to implement now

  • Pick 1 primary keyword.

  • Add it within the first paragraph and one subheading.

  • Break into 3–5 short subsections with headings.

  • Add one optimized image with alt text.

  • Add a short FAQ (2–3 Qs).

  • Write a 120–150 character meta description.

  • Link to one related internal page.
